President-elect Trump has named pro-life Congressman Tom Price as his nominee for HHS Secretary\u00a0— the top position at\u00a0the federal Department of Health and Human Services.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to naming Rep. Price as his choice for head of HHS, Trump has also named pro-life Senator Jeff Sessions as his Attorney General and pro-life Governor Nikki Haley as his UN ambassador. <\/span><\/p>\n

According to the National Right to Life Committee<\/span><\/a>, Rep. Price has voted pro-life 100% of the time during his time in Congress. The Susan B. Anthony List has also awarded<\/a>\u00a0Rep. Price a 100% pro-life rating.\u00a0In\u00a0April of 2005, he voted in favor of restricting interstate transport of minors to get abortions. In May of the same year, he voted against allowing human embryonic stem cell research.<\/span><\/p>\n

In January of 2007, Rep. Price voted to grant the pre-born equal protection under 14th Amendment, and he also voted against expanding research to more embryonic stem cell lines. <\/span><\/p>\n

In January of 2011, Rep. Price supported prohibiting federal funding to groups like Planned Parenthood. In May of the same year,\u00a0he supported the prohibition of federal funding for abortion\u00a0and a ban on\u00a0federal healthcare coverage that would include abortion. In July of 2011, Rep.\u00a0Price supported an effort to\u00a0bar funding for abortion under federal Obamacare plans.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2012, Rep. Price told a reporter that Obamacare\u2019s birth control mandate that forced employers to fund even abortifacient birth control was \u201ca trampling on religious freedom and religious liberty in this country.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>As recently as 2013, Rep. Price has made his stand against taxpayer-funded abortion clear, saying it is essential that no taxpayer dollars are used for abortions. In January of 2013, he supported the Protect Life Act, which was passed by the U.S. House of Representatives. <\/span>In his statement for the Protect Life Act<\/span><\/a>, which would have ensured no taxpayer dollars are used to fund abortions, Price noted:<\/span><\/p>\n
