The damaging repercussions of abortion can go beyond the physical, often causing psychological and <a href=\"\/news\/women-share-their-post-abortion-pain-and-tegret\/\">emotional damage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2013, Live Action News&#8217; Kristi Burton Brown <a href=\"\/news\/cnn-special-report-features-hundreds-of-women-who-regret-their-abortions\/\">discussed<\/a>\u00a0a CNN special report in which women shared their regret over past abortions. &#8220;Until we meet again,&#8221; &#8220;Soul-deep ache,&#8221; &#8220;Self-medicating did not heal my pain&#8221; &#8212; these were among the tragic titles of the stories shared by women.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Barbados&#8217; NationalNews featured such a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationnews.com\/nationnews\/news\/90643\/dear-christine-feeling-guilt-abortion\">story<\/a> in it&#8217;s advice column, &#8220;Dear Christine.&#8221; The woman writing the letter began by describing the\u00a0pain she feels over an abortion committed long ago.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleAd1\">\n<p><!-- \/1011927\/LAN_300_by_250_top_article --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0\" class=\"ArticleAd1a\"><script>\ngoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0'); });\n<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;Right now, as I pen this letter, I am wondering if my baby was a girl or a boy,&#8221;\u00a0she explains.\u00a0&#8220;I am hurting because I would have had a big son or daughter and he or she would have been a real comfort to me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The anonymous woman, who in the letter goes by the name &#8220;Feeling the Guilt,&#8221; goes on to describe her reasons for having the abortion, describing how it made sense at the time, but ending up resulting in sadness and regret:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You name it, I thought I had all the right reasons to have an abortion, but it sure hurts more now&#8230; No matter what people may say, abortion is wrong because we are killing an individual and not giving a child the opportunity to grow up and become somebody in life&#8230; I will never be able to give my husband a child because the doctor that did the abortion made some error with my womb.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The woman encourages readers who feel that abortion is a &#8220;right&#8221; to consider that it is more accurately a &#8220;wrong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleAd2\">\n<p><!-- \/1011927\/LAN_300_BY_250_mid_article --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1473179101244-0\" class=\"ArticleAd2a\"><script>\ngoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1473179101244-0'); });\n<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In response to the letter, Christine encouraged the woman to find forgiveness and closure, while agreeing that abortion is a regrettable decision. &#8220;Many people hold the view that abortion is okay,&#8221;\u00a0writes Christine,\u00a0&#8220;but as you have said in your letter, it\u2019s not a speck of blood, neither is it a case of bringing back a menstrual cycle. Abortion is taking another life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is\u00a0an important point. The abortion industry so often uses euphemisms to mask what abortion really is and what it does. Even organizations like Planned Parenthood have been <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/what-we-do\/investigations\/medical-misinformation\/\">caught lying to women<\/a> about abortion and\u00a0its\u00a0risks, as well as\u00a0about fetal development:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z_HoM6213kc\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As long as abortion exists, there will be women like &#8220;Feeling the Guilt&#8221; who need <a href=\"\/news\/6-things-post-abortive-women-need\/\">our encouragement, our help, and healing<\/a>. The taking of a life cannot be undone, but\u00a0minds can be changed and life can be defended, regardless of past actions.
