The Obama Administration\u2019s reaction to revelations was to <a href=\"\/news\/obama-admin-takes-planned-parenthoods-fetal-parts-answers-face-value\/\">take the abortion giant&#8217;s spin at face value<\/a>, with top administration officials <a href=\"\/news\/white-house-still-hasnt-seen-snippets-planned-parenthood-videos\/\">admitting<\/a> they didn\u2019t bother to watch more than \u201csnippets\u201d of the Center for Medical Progress\u2019s explosive undercover videos, Attorney General Loretta Lynch showing <a href=\"\/news\/four-months-later-ag-lynch-hasnt-seen-planned-parenthood-videos\/\">no interest whatsoever<\/a> in doing her job and investigating the evidence, and President Barack Obama <a href=\"\/news\/obama-veto-bill-defund-planned-parenthood-stands-house-vote-comes-short\/\">continuing to maintain<\/a> that Planned Parenthood\u00a0deserved Americans\u2019 tax dollars.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleAd1\">\n<p><!-- \/1011927\/LAN_300_by_250_top_article --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0\" class=\"ArticleAd1a\"><script>\ngoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0'); });\n<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Well, President-elect Donald Trump\u2019s latest\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.greatagain.gov\/news\/president-elect-donald-j-trump-selects-us-senator-jeff-sessions-attorney-general-lt-gen-michael.html\">big announcement<\/a> wasn\u2019t an outright confirmation that such an investigation is coming, but it could be a\u00a0good sign. To the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2016\/11\/18\/pro-life-groups-praise-trumps-selection-of-longtime-pro-life-ally-jeff-sessions-as-attorney-general\/\">enthusiastic approval of pro-life groups<\/a>, he has revealed that he will nominate Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) to serve as the new Attorney General:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions has dedicated his life to public service. He has a distinguished legal career and has served as both the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama and Alabama Attorney General prior to his service in the U.S. Senate. He has been one of President-elect Trump\u2019s trusted advisors on the campaign and will now continue his service as our nation\u2019s chief law enforcement officer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is an honor to nominate U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions to serve as Attorney General of the United States,\u201d said President-elect Trump. \u201cJeff has been a highly respected member of the U.S. Senate for 20 years. He is a world-class legal mind and considered a truly great Attorney General and U.S. Attorney in the state of Alabama. Jeff is greatly admired by legal scholars and virtually everyone who knows him.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Why should this announcement encourage pro-lifers? Throughout his lengthy legislative career, Sessions has maintained a <a href=\"http:\/\/votesmart.org\/candidate\/evaluations\/443\/jeff-sessions-iii#.WC9YcKIrKRs\">100% pro-life voting record<\/a>. Moreover, he <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2009\/11\/19\/nat-5689\/\">led the effort to filibuster<\/a> Obama\u2019s very first pro-abortion judicial nominee, David Hamilton, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativereview.com\/commentary\/2016\/11\/why-trump-picking-jeff-sessions-for-attorney-general-shows-hes-serious-about-law-and-order\">earned praise<\/a> for his conviction that the rule of law should trump (no pun intended) any administration\u2019s political preferences (a breath of fresh air, considering Planned Parenthood\u2019s <a href=\"\/news\/25-politicians-received-money-planned-parenthood\/\">heavy financial support<\/a> for Obama and other pro-abortion politicians who\u2019ve returned the favor by covering for its crimes), <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/blogs\/floor-action\/senate\/254417-sessions-ludicrous-that-defunding-planned-parenthood-would-shut\">was not intimidated<\/a> by howls that defunding Planned Parenthood would shut down the government (he called them \u201cludicrous\u201d and maintained that Obama lacked \u201cthe moral authority, the political clout, to tell the American people that the Congress shut down the government\u201d), and is already on record <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sessions.senate.gov\/public\/index.cfm\/2015\/7\/sessions-joins-colleagues-in-pressing-admin-for-investigation-into-planned-parenthood-scandal\">demanding<\/a> that Planned Parenthood be prosecuted\u2014and now he\u2019ll be in a position to make sure that it finally happens.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleAd2\">\n<p><!-- \/1011927\/LAN_300_BY_250_mid_article --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1473179101244-0\" class=\"ArticleAd2a\"><script>\ngoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1473179101244-0'); });\n<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bringing Planned Parenthood to justice is tremendously important on multiple levels. First, the only reason abortion apologists have been able to claim PP\u2019s innocence is because the authorities in the best position to find the evidence have chosen to look the other way. A real investigation with the full force of the United States Department of Justice would be a game-changer in bringing the truth to light\u2014not only about the facts of the case, but of Planned Parenthood\u2019s true character.<\/p>\n<p>Second, one of the bedrock principles of just, constitutional government is that every American must have the confidence that the law\u2014both its protections and its punishments\u2014apply to everyone with absolute impartiality. By refusing to investigate when officials are caught on video openly discussing how to break the law, <em>just because<\/em> the organization in question is a prominent and financially supportive member of the ruling party\u2019s partisan coalition, the Obama Administration sent the message that the rule of law isn\u2019t absolute or impartial\u2014that political favoritism rules all. Doing so emboldened not only the abortion industry to continue its criminality, but any organization that thinks it can get away with their own crimes by simply cultivating the right political connections.<\/p>\n<p>This needs to be reversed. Planned Parenthood must be held accountable, and its partisans must be taught that their ideological biases are not a moral license to ignore horrific crimes committed by groups they like.
