A\u00a0North Carolina news station recently caught staffers from a Planned Parenthood PAC organization misrepresenting what they do. The way they\u00a0got to the truth? Using\u00a0a hidden camera<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The story, previously covered by\u00a0Live Action News<\/a>, originated from WBTV, a local North Carolina TV station, after receiving\u00a0a tip that a political group affiliated with Planned Parenthood was posing as an anti-toll group to recruit campaign workers. Their report stated that one of their producers “visited the Community Outreach Group office with a hidden camera…” and found an office worker who “told our producer the group wasn\u2019t affiliated with any anti-toll group and, instead, was a part of Planned Parenthood.”<\/p>\n

Hmm… use of hidden cameras to expose the deception of Planned Parenthood… where have I seen this before?<\/p>\n

Oh, right. I saw it a year ago, when the Center for Medical Progress, posing as a biomedical research company, exposed Planned Parenthood’s alleged sale\u00a0of aborted baby body parts. Several states opened investigations into Planned Parenthood and several defunded (or attempted to defund)<\/a> the organization after these revelations. Even Congress<\/a> voted to defund<\/a> and funnel money instead to Federally Qualified Health Centers<\/a>, which outnumber Planned Parenthood centers 20 to 1. President Obama, who had previously asked God to “bless” Planned Parenthood, vetoed the legislation. And thanks to CMP’s undercover work, the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives<\/a> is still currently investigating the illegal trafficking of fetal tissue in the United States.<\/p>\n

In the case of the Center for Medical Progress, much of the mainstream\u00a0media immediately tried to discredit the organization for using hidden cameras\u00a0to expose Planned Parenthood’s deception.<\/p>\n

What are the basic similarities between the North Carolina TV news report and the CMP investigation?<\/p>\n

\u2022 Planned Parenthood staffers were caught engaging in (at minimum)\u00a0deceptive activities.
\n\u2022 It took a hidden camera investigation to expose the deception.<\/p>\n

Community Outreach Group, LLC., (COG) is a direct part of Planned Parenthood, and is mentioned in their most recent annual report<\/a>. The group’s\u00a0LinkedIn Page<\/a>\u00a0states:<\/p>\n

“Community Outreach Group, LLC is part of Planned Parenthood, but a separate organization that is available to act as a vendor of large-scale advocacy and electoral programs for affiliates, local c4 organizations, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, the Action Fund and Planned Parenthood Votes for contracted field programs.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So, why the deception? And is this going on across the nation to recruit “campaigners” to stump for left-wing causes like abortion?<\/p>\n

COG has published numerous advertisements for full and part-time positions on Craigslist and other sites where they were\u00a0upfront about being associated with Planned Parenthood’s political arm. But it was an advertisement<\/a>\u00a0that wasn’t so upfront that caught the attention of the North Carolina News station (pictured right).<\/p>\n

Let’s pause here for a moment and imagine if this were a pro-life organization\u00a0— for example,\u00a0The Center for Medical Progress, and they were functioning under “false pretenses.” What would be the response of the media then?<\/p>\n

Actually, we can<\/em> know what their response would be, because when it was learned that CMP’s investigators used\u00a0pseudonyms and a different company name to gain access to Planned Parenthood and other organizations during the course of their multi-year undercover investigation,\u00a0Planned Parenthood’s friends in the\u00a0media condemned their actions. The difference? The whole purpose of\u00a0CMP’s undercover investigation\u00a0was not to deceive the public<\/em>, but to expose illegal activity.<\/em><\/p>\n

The opposite is true here. Community Outreach Group downplayed to such an extent their affiliation with Planned Parenthood that they pretended to be an “anti-toll” group.<\/p>\n

And, like magic, being deceptive about one’s affiliations is suddenly no longer\u00a0newsworthy!<\/p>\n

What this local NC news station did was a service to the public\u00a0— so\u00a0much so that Planned Parenthood’s Community Outreach Group\u00a0immediately started pulling down their ads with no explanation why. If you aren’t doing anything wrong, why pull the ads after you’re caught? Perhaps officials in positions of authority at Planned Parenthood didn’t want any scrutiny\u00a0— officials like\u00a0Planned Parenthood president, Cecile Richards. A look at Community Outreach Group’s corporate filings<\/a> reveals that Richards is also the president of Community Outreach Group, LLC:<\/p>\n

The papers were filed<\/a>\u00a0by Debra Alligood White, senior vice president and general counsel of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund. According to a 2014 Planned Parenthood Action Fund 990<\/a>, Community Organization Group is described as “community based organization, advocacy and canvassing activities” whose total share of income was $6,676,716.00.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood receives half a billion dollars\u00a0annually from the taxpayer, which can be used in\u00a0part to continue the day to day operation of their abortion centers. In addition, Planned Parenthood’s PAC overwhelmingly gives\u00a0their money and campaigning support to candidates<\/a> who continue funding to the abortion giant.<\/p>\n

It seems that whenever Planned Parenthood or an\u00a0affiliated organization is caught red-handed in deceptive practices (and even deceptive claims<\/a>), many in\u00a0the national, mainstream media turn a blind eye. One of the organization’s most popular and oft-repeated deceptive claims is that abortion is only three percent of their services. Here’s why that isn’t true:<\/p>\n
