Operation Rescue <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/abortionist-leroy-carhart-sued-for-a-botched-clinton-supported-late-term-abortion\/\">reports<\/a>\u00a0that Devine &#8220;endured such extreme injuries that she continues to suffer permanent disability and will likely never bear another child.&#8221; Devine\u00a0went to Carhart&#8217;s Germantown, Maryland, facility on January 18, 2016, for a two-day Dilation and Evacuation (D&amp;E) abortion (described below by former abortionist, Dr. Anthony Levatino):<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Operation Rescue notes that &#8220;D&amp;E abortions are commonly used in the majority of late-term abortions \u2014 especially if the abortionist is in a hurry. The rarer\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/about-abortion\/late-term-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\">Induction Method,<\/a>\u00a0which births an intact \u2014 but still very dead \u2014 baby, requires three to four days to complete. The D&amp;E method can be done much quicker.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Carhart is what&#8217;s known as a &#8220;circuit rider&#8221; abortionist, who travels from facility to facility, state to state, to perform abortions, and then travels back to Maryland. The video below, provided by Operation Rescue, has audio of the 911 call placed from Carhart&#8217;s\u00a0facility on the day of Devine&#8217;s abortion and also shows that\u00a0after the ambulance departs, two vehicles &#8212; which OR states are Carhart and his wife &#8212; leave, going in the opposite direction.\u00a0According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2013\/02\/10\/young-woman-who-died-from-botched-33-week-abortion-identified\/\">other reports<\/a>, it is not unheard of for the\u00a0Carharts to leave, luggage ready for traveling, following a patient&#8217;s abortion.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fX7lYGg0R0Y\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Operation Rescue shares\u00a0the details of Devine&#8217;s case:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Devine\u2019s court records filled in the details that the redacted recording left out.<\/p>\n<p>When Devine finally arrived at the hospital at 8:35 p.m., she was bleeding heavily, was extremely weak, and still suffering severe abdominal pain&#8230;.Hospital E.R. doctors called in a gynecologist who examined her and prepped her for surgery. At 10:20 p.m., Devine was rolled into the emergency room for an exploratory laparoscopy, but what was discovered was so serious that the procedure was converted to an open laparotomy and an additional specialist was called in.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"ArticleAd1\">\n<p><!-- \/1011927\/LAN_300_by_250_top_article --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0\" class=\"ArticleAd1a\"><script>\ngoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0'); });\n<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Doctors at the hospital found a hematoma (blood clot) containing more than a liter of blood in the patient&#8217;s abominal cavity, a top-to-bottom tear in the right side of the patient&#8217;s uterus, a tear in the artery on the same side, a severely damaged right ovary which was, according to Operation Rescue, &#8220;left hanging by a thin piece of tissue,&#8221; and a &#8220;significant tear\u00a0in the tissue that holds the lower colon in place.&#8221; The patient&#8217;s\u00a0hematocrit and hemoglobin numbers were at \u201cpanic levels,\u201d according to the lawsuit. OR reports, &#8220;Normal hematocrit levels for females is 36 to 48%, but Devine\u2019s measured only 16%. Normal hemoglobin levels for females is 12-16, while hers came in at 5.4.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Devine suffered further complications, which are detailed in the lawsuit and by Operation Rescue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u00a0Abortionist LeRoy Carhart has\u00a0killed other patients due to negligence, including 19-year-old <a href=\"\/news\/christin-gilbert-leroy-carharts-forgotten-victim\/\">Christin Gilbert,<\/a>\u00a0who, Live Action News&#8217; Cassy Fiano reports, &#8220;was found to be bleeding from every orifice in her body [after arriving at the hospital]. Her body was so ravaged by sepsis and infection that her organs were unable to be donated. Her death was quickly swept under the rug.&#8221; His negligence also killed 29-year-old Jennifer Morbelli, who was 33 weeks pregnant.\u00a0Live Action News&#8217; Sarah Terzo <a href=\"\/news\/the-troubled-past-of-embattled-abortion-doctor-leroy-carhart\/\">says<\/a> Morbelli &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2013\/02\/21\/woman-late-term-abortion-bled-to-death\/1935799\/\" target=\"_blank\">bled to death<\/a>\u00a0after amniotic fluid entered her bloodstream and affected her blood\u2019s ability to clot.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Carhart has held\u00a0no hospital privileges since 1982, and has a reputation for <a href=\"\/news\/abortionist-leroy-carhart-third-patient-hospital-three-months\/\">numerous ambulance calls<\/a>\u00a0and injuries to women. Complaints against this abortionist &#8220;<a href=\"\/news\/the-troubled-past-of-embattled-abortion-doctor-leroy-carhart\/\">go back decades<\/a>,&#8221; according to Fiano.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In Live Action&#8217;s InHuman investigation, Carhart was filmed likening deceased babies in utero to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Q04-l2cm1oQ\">meat in a crock pot<\/a>.&#8221; In another InHuman undercover investigation video,\u00a0Carhart&#8217;s shoddy practices\u00a0were exposed:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GIlYXmG287g\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Operation Rescue notes that &#8220;Maryland has no gestational limit on abortion that would limit [Carhart&#8217;s]\u00a0business,&#8221; meaning he can abort children throughout all nine months of pregnancy, despite <a href=\"\/news\/yes-there-is-such-a-thing-as-abortion-in-the-ninth-month\/\">inaccurate claims from the media<\/a> that such late abortions don&#8217;t happen.
