Beville supported legal abortion, but one day she came face to face with a tiny baby boy who had been born too early\u00a0to survive.<\/p>\n<p>Beville describes the pivotal moment:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[I] held a little miscarried 14 week baby in my hand. It wasn\u2019t a blob of tissue, or a clot, or an alien-looking\u00a0grub. It was a little baby boy, who was kicking his legs and waving his arms and trying very, very hard to breathe. That little baby wanted so badly to live. It broke my heart.<\/p>\n<p>I became pro-life in that moment of truth.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Unable to breathe air with his undeveloped lungs, the little boy died. But his brief life showed Beville how\u00a0remarkably developed preborn babies are in the early second trimester. Even though this child was too young to survive, he was fully formed.<\/p>\n<p>At 14 weeks, a preborn baby has\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/clinicquotes.com\/overview-of-fetal-development\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">arms, legs, fingers, and toes<\/a>. He has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/slideshow-images.php?slide=4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">beating heart<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/movies.php?mov_id=33\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">brain waves.<\/a>\u00a0The preborn child\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehd.org\/movies.php?mov_id=231\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">responds to touch <\/a>and is already <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ehd.org\/movies.php?mov_id=44\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">right- or left-handed<\/a>. In this type of abortion, the baby is dismembered limb from torso and extracted piece by piece with forceps. Former abortionist Dr. Anthony Levatino <a href=\"http:\/\/clinicquotes.com\/an-abortion-doctor-describes-a-de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">describes the procedure:<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A second trimester D&amp;E abortion is a blind procedure. The baby can be in any orientation or position inside the uterus. Picture yourself reaching in with the Sopher clamp and grasping anything you can. &#8230;Once you have grasped something inside, squeeze on the clamp to set the jaws and pull hard \u2013 really hard. You feel something let go and out pops a fully formed leg about 4 to 5 inches long. Reach in again and grasp whatever you can. Set the jaw and pull really hard once again and out pops an arm about the same length.
