{"id":127814,"date":"2016-10-06T13:47:44","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T17:47:44","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=127814"},"modified":"2016-10-06T16:50:29","modified_gmt":"2016-10-06T20:50:29","slug":"planned-parenthood-ceo-when-preborn-humans-get-rights-not-the-point","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-ceo-when-preborn-humans-get-rights-not-the-point\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Parenthood CEO: When preborn humans get rights is not &#8220;the point&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Recently, Planned Parenthood\u2019s CEO Cecile Richards seemed unable to provide the answer to a simple question of when a baby\u2019s life is worth protecting.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/eric-scheiner\/when-does-baby-get-constitutional-rights-planned-parenthood-ceo-i-dont\">CNS News reports<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>On Tuesday, Doug Wagner of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/whoradio.iheart.com\/media\/play\/27368008\/\">WHO Newsradio in Iowa<\/a>\u00a0discussed Hillary Clinton\u2019s view\u00a0that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnsnews.com\/news\/article\/cnsnewscom-staff\/hillary-clinton-unborn-person-doesnt-have-constitutional-rights\">constitutional rights for the unborn don\u2019t exist<\/a>. He then asked Richards her thoughts on the issue.<\/p>\n<p>Wagner said, \u201cAt what point does that child \u2013 or\u00a0that unborn person, fetus \u2013 whatever you want to call it \u2013 at what point does that baby get the constitutional rights?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I don\u2019t really, actually \u2013 I don\u2019t know that there\u2019s an exact answer for that\u201d\u00a0Richards replied.\u00a0\u201cBecause what the point is (inaudible) that women have and there are, as you know, restrictions on women\u2019s ability to terminate a pregnancy \u2013 and when they can, but until a pregnancy is viable they have the right to make that decision.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MRC TV video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mrctv.org\/embed\/181876\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In April, on Chuck Todd\u2019s Meet the Press, <a href=\"http:\/\/townhall.com\/tipsheet\/justinholcomb\/2016\/04\/03\/hillary-clinton-the-unborn-person-doesnt-have-constitutional-rights-n2142977\">Hillary Clinton said<\/a> she believes that unborn children have no rights until birth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When or if does an unborn child have constitutional rights?&#8221; Todd asked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Well, under our laws currently, that is not something that exists. The unborn person doesn\u2019t have constitutional rights. Now, that doesn\u2019t mean that we don\u2019t do everything we possibly can in the vast majority of instances to, you know, help a mother who is carrying a child and wants to make sure that child will be healthy, to have appropriate medical support. It doesn\u2019t mean that, you know, don\u2019t do everything possible to try to fulfill your obligations. But it does not include sacrificing the woman\u2019s right to make decisions. And I think that\u2019s an important distinction that under <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> we\u2019ve had refined under our Constitution,&#8221; Clinton said.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Richards <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2015\/07\/28\/center-for-medical-progress-calls-planned-parenthood-president-accusations-of-violence-and-murder-illogical-fictitious-slanderous\/\">has claimed<\/a> that\u00a0David Daleiden of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.centerformedicalprogress.org\/\">the Center for Medical Progress<\/a> and the people behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCXSI8qkDPz1CZj1u9I8Wbcg\">the videos<\/a> that expose\u00a0the alleged sale of aborted baby parts are \u201cpart of the most militant anti-abortion movement that has been behind the bombing of clinics, the murder of doctors in their homes and in their churches&#8230;.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As CEO of Planned Parenthood, Richards rakes in an annual salary of $590,000.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, Planned Parenthood\u2019s CEO Cecile Richards seemed unable to provide the answer to a simple question of when a baby\u2019s life is worth protecting.
