The first, HB 4787, makes it a felony to stalk or assault a woman for the purpose of forcing her to abort. Under the second, HB 4380, withholding legally required financial aid or employment is a misdemeanor.<\/p>\n<p>Coerced abortions aren\u2019t rare: some studies indicate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mccl.org\/forced-abortion.html\">more than half<\/a> of abortions are consented to under pressure, and women can face violence when they resist. Women have been\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2338710\/Man-begged-friend-kill-girlfriend-refused-abortion.html\">shot<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/news\/canada\/british-columbia\/surrey-man-convicted-in-2005-murder-of-pregnant-lover-1.1357452\">stabbed<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.canada.com\/cityguides\/toronto\/info\/story.html?id=16c6d45c-7ef1-4068-bd8f-65838bbd9132\"> bludgeoned<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.apnewsarchive.com\/2002\/Pa-Men-Gets-Life-For-Firebombings\/id-154f7d5446a665b04600c8d1c231ae7a\"> burned<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nydailynews.com\/news\/crime\/maine-man-accused-killing-shaniesha-forbes-thought-pregnant-article-1.1345779\">smothered<\/a> for refusing to have one, which is part of why the CDC lists homicide as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/reproductivehealth\/violence\/\">a leading cause<\/a> of death during pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>Given those facts, you might be wondering, \u201cWhy would anyone oppose this legislation?\u201d Ask Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ArticleAd1\">\n<p><!-- \/1011927\/LAN_300_by_250_top_article --><\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0\" class=\"ArticleAd1a\"><script>\ngoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1473179053567-0'); });\n<\/script><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Planned Parenthood is America\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2015\/jan\/1\/planned-parenthood-327k-abortions-fiscal-2014\/\">largest abortion chain<\/a>, and it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legislature.mi.gov\/documents\/2015-2016\/billanalysis\/House\/pdf\/2015-HLA-4787-C923058F.pdf\">wasn\u2019t a fan<\/a> of either bill. I\u2019m not surprised Planned Parenthood would fight laws to protect vulnerable women and girls. For years, Planned Parenthood has\u00a0helped the men who prey on them.<\/p>\n<p>It certainly helped John Blanks, Jr. when he\u00a0brought his daughter, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2007\/05\/10\/state-2279\/\">Denise Fairbanks<\/a>, to Planned Parenthood after\u00a0he got her pregnant. In her lawsuit, Fairbanks recalled explicitly telling facility staff she\u2019d been raped and was now being forced to abort. Rather than call the police, they turned her back over to him when they were done. Planned Parenthood <a href=\"http:\/\/lldf.org\/resolved-fairbanks-v-planned-parenthood\/\">opted to settle<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They settled with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2015\/jul\/29\/planned-parenthood-failed-to-report-13-year-old-gi\/\">Timothy Smith\u2019s<\/a> victim, too. Smith brought the 13 year-old to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains after he raped her. Colorado\u2019s Office of Children, Youth, &amp; Families says it\u2019s a sign of abuse if a child under 14 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/a\/state.co.us\/cdhs-dcw\/reportchildabuse\/sexual-abuse\">becomes pregnant or contracts a venereal disease<\/a>,\u201d but Planned Parenthood staff weren\u2019t concerned. One later admitted that \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/SiskSkarvanTranscriptPages.pdf\">being thirteen and pregnant alone is not a red flag<\/a>\u201d there.<\/p>\n<p>The victims of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/RamirezCalifCourtOfAppealsOpinion.pdf\">Edgar Ramirez<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/archive.lifenews.com\/state3469.html\">Gary Cross<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/seattle.cbslocal.com\/2013\/05\/20\/man-rapes-preteen-girl-forces-her-to-get-abortion-at-planned-parenthood\/\">Luis Gonzalez-Jose<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/KingSentencingStatement.pdf\">Andrew King<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/RoeOpinion.pdf\"> John Haller<\/a>,<a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/news\/local\/connecticut\/articles\/2007\/08\/02\/charges_added_in_alleged_abduction\/?camp=pm\"> Adam Gault<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/california-pedophile-used-planned-parenthood-abortion-to-cover-rape\/\">Grey David Woods<\/a> didn\u2019t get much concern either. And it\u2019s not just amateur abusers that Planned Parenthood will assist: Live Action has shown it\u2019ll help professionals as well. When two volunteers posing as pimps visited a New Jersey Planned Parenthood center, its director offered to arrange abortions on child prostitutes who \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=riX50sOhAyk\">can\u2019t speak English<\/a>\u201d and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=uj2XeLPRjns\">won\u2019t know what\u2019s going on<\/a>.\u201d \u201cIf they\u2019re 14 and under,\u201d she explained, \u201cjust send them right there if they need an abortion, OK?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/L9Zj9yx2j0Y\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t think child abusers and human traffickers deserve a hand, then contact your representatives and demand anti-coercion laws. You can also <a href=\"http:\/\/plannedparenthoodexposed.com\/\">tell Congress<\/a> that Planned Parenthood\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/2013\/01\/08\/planned-parenthood-receives-record-amount-taxpayer-support\/\">half billion<\/a> dollars annually in federal funding should go to <a href=\"http:\/\/getyourcare.org\/\">federally qualified health centers<\/a> and <a href=\"\/news\/new-website-shows-women-have-more-choices-besides-planned-parenthood-for-low-cost-health-care\/\">community health centers<\/a> instead.
