{"id":125807,"date":"2016-09-12T16:03:54","date_gmt":"2016-09-12T20:03:54","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=125807"},"modified":"2016-09-13T11:49:47","modified_gmt":"2016-09-13T15:49:47","slug":"worlds-smallest-baby-shames-amy-brenneman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/worlds-smallest-baby-shames-amy-brenneman\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018The World\u2019s Smallest Baby\u2019 has lesson for Amy Brenneman"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Of late, abortion advocates like activist, actress, and self-proclaimed progressive <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/politics\/a54363\/amy-brenneman-abortion-story\/\">Amy Brenneman<\/a> are trying to convince themselves, as well as gullible women, that killing offspring is as benign an activity as getting a pedicure.<\/p>\n<p>Brenneman\u00a0said she spoke out about her abortion because\u00a0the\u00a0\u201clight of community and shared experience&#8221; dispels\u00a0shame.\u00a0Apparently, Amy, \u2018who has never not for one moment, regretted her abortion\u2019 is of the opinion that being unwanted is worse than being dead and that wantedness is the determining factor as to whether an unborn child gets to live, or ends up dying.<\/p>\n<p>If given the chance to speak, nine-month-old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=g1dWn1ZnObQ\">Emilia Grabarczyk<\/a> would likely disagree with Amy.<\/p>\n<p>Delivered by emergency caesarean section in the German city of Witten at 25-weeks, Emilia, weighing in at just 8-ounces, puts a face on the life Ms. Brenneman bragged in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/politics\/a54363\/amy-brenneman-abortion-story\/\"><em>Cosmopolitan<\/em><\/a> magazine she lackadaisically disposed of in a \u201cclean and respectable\u201d abortion clinic 31-years ago.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Emilia was born weighing just 8 OUNCES and is believed to be the world&#8217;s tiniest baby <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8LbVMPMeYU\">https:\/\/t.co\/8LbVMPMeYU<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/uMDq826Vwp\">pic.twitter.com\/uMDq826Vwp<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daily Mail Online (@MailOnline) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MailOnline\/status\/773944266821435393\">September 8, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>At just 8 inches, or 22 centimeters long, Emilia is believed to be the \u201cworld\u2019s smallest baby\u201d ever to survive such an early delivery. At the time of her birth, Emilia weighed no more than a \u201cbell pepper\u201d and her tiny, inch-long feet were the size of one of Amy Brenneman\u2019s perfectly manicured fingernails.<\/p>\n<p>At 25 weeks, a healthy baby in its mother\u2019s womb typically weighs about a pound and a half. Because Emilia\u2019s mother Sabine\u2019s placenta was not nourishing her unborn child, at 25 weeks, the baby girl\u2019s birth weight was equivalent to a baby <a href=\"http:\/\/www.babycenter.com\/average-fetal-length-weight-chart\">19 weeks<\/a> in utero. In fact, on the day she was born, Emilia was almost half the weight of babies that are routinely aborted at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/babies-born-22-weeks-can-survive-medical-care-new-study-finds-329518\">22 weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/pulse\/she-was-alive-and-crying-abortion-nurse-quits-after-baby-born-alive-left-to\">discard<\/a> or leave her to die, German pediatricians, gynecologists, and pediatric surgeons saved Emilia\u2019s life. And despite her minuscule size, just like many babies born alive in botched abortions, Emilia was in good health. At just 12 ounces, she even survived abdominal surgery.<\/p>\n<p>During the six months following her birth, her\u00a0parents and her doctors were unsure whether or not Emilia Grabarczyk would live and questioned if she did survive, whether she would be plagued with lifelong hyperactivity and learning difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, 9-months-old, Emilia shows no visible signs of disability. The miracle baby weighs 7 lbs.-2 ounces, and, according to doctors, seems to be growing stronger with each passing day.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Children and Youth Clinic at St Mary&#8217;s hospital, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jameda.de\/witten\/aerzte\/kinderaerzte\/dr-bahman-gharavi\/uebersicht\/81122023_1\/\">Dr. Bahman Gharavi<\/a> described Emilia\u2019s birth as exceptional. Gharavi said: \u201cEven children with a birth weight of 14 ounces rarely survive. We have to thank Emilia as well for her own survival. She is a little fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to her mother\u2019s obstetrician <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marien-hospital-witten.de\/kliniken\/frauen-klinik\/das-team.html\">Dr. Sven Schiermeier<\/a>, over the past 9-months, \u201cThere were many difficult days and many tears, but [Emilia] clearly wanted to survive\u2026[and]\u2026 in recent weeks she is getting more robust.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in the name of choice, every day two-dozen late-term babies are scraped into red biohazard bags and dragged to an incinerator similar to the one Amy Brenneman\u2019s son or daughter probably occupied more than three decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, what we learn from Emilia\u2019s story is that contrary to actress Amy Brenneman\u2019s taciturn attitude toward the value of her own child\u2019s life, and despite a small size and questionable ability to survive, the right to life is not measured by whether or not a woman wants a child, but rather, by a God-given will to live.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, feisty Emilia Grabarczyk\u2019s existence sends a message to prochoice\/<a href=\"http:\/\/shoutyourabortion.com\/\">#shoutyourabortion<\/a> types like \u2018responsible family planner\u2019 Amy Brenneman who, after her abortion, breathed a sigh of relief and said, \u201cI get my life back!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To \u2018get her life back\u2019 Amy Brenneman is proud that she forfeited the life of her child who, Emilia Grabarczyk has proven if given the choice, would have struggled to live.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Of late, abortion advocates like activist, actress, and self-proclaimed progressive Amy Brenneman are trying to convince themselves, as well as gullible women, that killing offspring is as benign an activity as getting a pedicure.
