A new rule proposed<\/a> by the Department of Health and Human Services could prevent states from blocking Title X funding\u00a0to abortion providers such as\u00a0Planned Parenthood, says Rep. Diane Black of Tennessee.<\/p>\n

In its own words, the proposed rule “precludes project recipients from using criteria in their selection\u00a0of subrecipients that are unrelated to the ability to deliver services to program\u00a0beneficiaries in an effective manner.”<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Black, the proposed rule\u00a0is an attempt to\u00a0undermine the authority of states (recipients)\u00a0to redistribute Title X funds (federal\u00a0money for family planning services)\u00a0away from abortion businesses (subrecipients)\u00a0like Planned Parenthood. This latest stunt from President Obama\u2019s Department of Health and Human Services should surprise absolutely no one. We\u2019ve known all along that the Obama Administration will go to untold lengths to protect its friends in the big abortion industry. After all, this Administration has previously used backdoor maneuvers to line Planned Parenthood\u2019s pockets with Obamacare navigator grants and praised the abortion provider\u2019s \u2018high ethical standard\u2019 even after it was caught trafficking in baby body parts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
