\"\"<\/a>Genocide.\u00a0 We are all familiar with stories of it: Nazi Germany, the Holocaust, Rwanda, Sudan.\u00a0 What did these people groups do to deserve extermination?\u00a0 They were born at the wrong place at the wrong time.\u00a0 Popular sentiment was turned against them, costing them their lives.\u00a0 It was determined that they were a threat; that they were not worth keeping alive.\u00a0 And so they were killed.\u00a0 They were hunted down.\u00a0 They were exterminated.\u00a0 And when what happened was exposed, the world looked upon it with horror.\u00a0 Innocent lives were taken, lives that simply can never be replaced.<\/p>\n

Gendercide.\u00a0 The most obvious example of gendercide is China\u2019s One Child Policy.\u00a0 In most parts of China, women are only allowed to have one child.\u00a0 Since male children are seen as the most desirable, female babies are aborted.\u00a0 According to All Girls Allowed<\/a>, (an organization dedicated to revealing female infanticide and gendercide in China and providing hope to China\u2019s mothers and girls), the male\/female ratio is now causing serious demographic problems for the country. There are about 40 million<\/a> males in America under the age of 20.\u00a0 In 2020, it is estimated that there will be 40 million more Chinese men than Chinese women under the age of 20!<\/p>\n

There are about 50 million<\/a> girls who have been aborted in China.\u00a0 While that number alone is staggering, think of it in terms of the US population:\u00a0 that is roughly one-sixth of the population of the United States!<\/p>\n

China is now seeking to \u201csoften\u201d its message<\/a>.\u00a0 Slogans such as \u201cWe would rather scrape your womb than allow you to have a second child” are to be replaced with slogans like “Caring for the girl means caring for the future of the nation.”\u00a0\u00a0 But the underlying policy will remain the same.\u00a0 One child.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t think that gendercide is limited to countries with third-world aspects like a government who controls the number of children born or where male children are prized over female.\u00a0 Allowing abortion has created a \u201cconvenience\u201d mentality.\u00a0 Follow the logic.\u00a0 If a woman doesn\u2019t want a child now, she can have an abortion.\u00a0 If she feels she has had enough children, she can have an abortion.\u00a0 If there is a problem with her child, she can have an abortion.\u00a0 If she doesn\u2019t like the gender of her child, she can have an abortion.<\/p>\n

So we really<\/a> shouldn\u2019t be a bit surprised if this particular slippery slope leads from guilt-free annual terminations \u2013 three for two, anybody? \u2013 to a \u201cgender-balancing\u201d service, which helps you plan the perfect family by vacuuming away infants of the wrong sex. There is a moral coarsening here that should concern us all. How desensitised have we become when an act of life or death \u2013 literally \u2013 is used as a tool to satisfy a curious desire to have one that you can dress in blue, as well as pink?<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Telegraph recently reported<\/a> that gender selection is happening in England.\u00a0 Developed countries now freely kill children on the basis of gender.\u00a0 \u201c[H]aving a baby has become just another consumer choice, hasn\u2019t it, and, well, the customer is always right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Where does it end?\u00a0 Maybe someone will suggest killing unwanted children after they are born.\u00a0 Oh wait, that has already been suggested<\/a>…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
